Hello there! I'm Carrie Dotson, or Country Girl at Heart. I'm a wife and mother of two. Welcome to my neck of the woods, or in my case, my neck of the plains.
I grew up on a farm in the armpit of Oklahoma. I remember dreaming when I was growing up about where I would go and what I would do. I was certain that I would NOT live on a farm or have anything to do with agriculture. I had dreams of living in a big city, far, far away.
After moving away from the family farm, I found myself longing for it. I longed for the wide open spaces, being able to see for miles, and the smell. I truly understood the phrase that you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl.
I am going to share a little slice of our adventures and misadventures here.
I love to cook, but don't consider myself great. Trust me, I have had many failures in the kitchen. When I do find a great recipe, I promise to share it.
Being a stay at home mom, my mind sometimes wanders. That is until I am hit with a toy or interrupted by one of my children or one of their silly cartoon songs. In order to keep my sanity, I decided to give this whole blog thing a whirl.
I hope you enjoy reading about our sometimes crazy lives as much as I enjoy writing about them.
